Accessories for Flange Pipes:
Gaskets
For Flanged pipe jointing are normally flat rubber gaskets EPDM el astomer as per ISO 4633.Use of poor quality gaskets made of Natural rubber is not recommended.
Bolts & Nuts for the joint
Bolts made of Mild Steel as per ISO 1367 & Galvanized Nuts. High Tension bolts may be used where high axial load is anticipated.
Jointing Procedure for DI Flanged Pipes :
– Clean the faces of the flanges.
– Inspect the gasket for any damage or manufacturing defect.
– Align the pipes property and position the gasket between the flanges.
-Put the bolts into the flange holes one by one maintaining the alignment.
-Keeps the gap between the flanges approximately uniform while tightening .
-Tighten four location bolts in order to roughly secure the adjoining flange.
-Bolts to be tightened in the correct sequence and to the appropriate torque.
-Tighten nuts to finger tight.
-Check alignment of flange face and gasket.
-Insert remaining bolts and tighten nuts to finger tight.
– Finish with one final pass by providing torque in a clockwise direction.
– Tighten to 100% of estimated torque using the same sequence.
Precautions during installation of Flanged Pipes :
· Flanged Pipes are mainly for over ground installation, Buried installation of flanged pipe is not recommended.
· Flanged Joint being a rigid joint , perfect alignment of the flange faces during jointing and bolt tightening is absolutely vital.
· Use of duck foot bend at bottom of vertical flange pipe line is necessary.
· For high pressure application, even flanged pipeline ( both horizontal & vertical ) needs thrust block / support at bends / tees.
Flange pipe laying from one side if from both sides , put flexible coupling or mechanical Joint coupling in between & avoid pulling the flanged pipes flanges from both ends.

(4) Technical Aspects :
- The Actuator is equipped with two independent adjustable limit switches and two torque switches without any plastic parts or butteries which may need maintenance .
Connecting wires are sealed in the switch housing actuator. Switches work under mechanical principles. - The Actuator includes a hand wheel marked with two arrows for open/close in case of power failure and adjustment mode.
The hand wheel will automatically be disengaged when the electric motor is energized . - The Actuator transmits the motion from the motor to the valve through worm gear box principle which provide self lubricant and locking.
- The Actuator casing is made of cast iron (GG25) accord. to international specification to be able withstand the operation mechanical stresses.

Since its introduction into the marketplace in 1955, Ductile Iron pipe has been recognized as the industry standard for modern water and wastewater systems. More than six decades of field experience have proven its strength, durability, and reliability for transporting raw and potable water, sewage, slurries, and process chemicals. Ductile’s high degree of dependability is primarily due to its high strength, durability, impact and corrosion resistance. Designed and manufactured to the industry’s most stringent standards,
Ductile Iron pipe resists damage during shipping and handling, and once installed withstands the most demanding operating conditions, including water hammer, frozen ground, deep trenches, areas of high water table and heavy traffic, river crossings, pipe on supports, rocky trenches, and areas of shifting, expansive, and unstable soils. Installation is simple. Unlike some pipe materials, Ductile Iron pipe requires no complex line-and-grade drawings or laying schedules. It can be installed in a wide variety of trench and bedding conditions and can be easily cut in the field. Direct tapping, even in straight lines, doesn’t affect its integrity. And, once installed, Ductile Iron pipe is virtually maintenance free.
The pipe is manufactured in 6m nominal laying lengths from DN150mm – DN1000mm diameters in a range of standard pressure classes and nominal wall thicknesses.
Ductile Iron is furnished with several different types of joints, and a wide variety of standard fittings are available without special order. Although Ductile Iron pipe is usually furnished with cement mortar lining, optional internal linings are also available for a wide range of special applications.
And Ductile Iron’s generally larger-than-nominal inside diameters, combined with its high flow coefficient, offer substantial savings on pumping and power costs over the life of the pipeline

Ductile iron pipes are protected externally with a pure zinc – coat and bitumen BS 10
Ductile iron pipes are internally by cement mortar-lining.
Pipes withstand external pressure resulting from heavy loads, the pipes are not affected, resisting fracture and keeping their original shape due to elasticity property.
pipes withstand internal high pressure during factory tests:
– 60 bar for diameters up to 300 mm.
– 50 bar for diameters from 350 up to 1000 mm.
– 40 bar for diameters from 700 up to 1000 mm
Pipes have the advantage of small wall thickness which leads to an increase in the internal diameter for the same nominal diameter compared with other types of pipes.

- Ductile Iron pipe is utilized for innovative

“at grade” gravity sewer.

Coating
Internal protection for the pipes
Ductile pipes are used for conveying a wide variety of media, untreated water, drinking water, sewage. Such liquids can affect the nature of the pipeline in very many aggressive ways.
Our production range contains a number of tried-and-tested interior linings to combat virtually all forms of aggression.
Cement mortar linings conform with ISO 4179/EN 545.
The cement-mortar lining prevents tuberculation of the pipe by creating a high pH condition at the pipe wall and stops the production of red water.
The seal coat provides a barrier between soft or acidic waters and the cement-mortar lining.
Additionally, cement-mortar linings create a hydraulically smooth flow surface inside the pipe, resulting in less friction and thus, less head loss.
Cement mortar linings helps to maintain same flow area and co-efficient of friction over a long period of time
External protection for the pipes
Pipes buried in soil are exposed to soil aggression. So a variety of external protection measures are available to match various type of aggression.
The following coatings, paints sheaths, and wrappings have long proven themselves in practice:
1. Bitumen coating.
According to (ISO 8179/EN 454),
plus a top bitumen coating of at least 70 µm. Zinc spraying fuses and sprays zinc wire onto the pipe surface. The following bitumen coating comprises a blend of resistant, tropics-proof bitumen and inert fillers.
2. Zinc coating
One of the particular features of the external zinc coating is its ability to restore the continuity of the protective layer where small areas of local damage exist. The Zn++ ions migrate through the pore sealer to plug the damage and then convert into stable, insoluble zinc corrosion products
